CHATHAM battled past Whitehawk to win 2-0, leaving the home side nine points clear of the bottom four.
As Shaun Saunders’ side went in pursuit of a return to winning ways in the Premier Division, they couldn’t have expected such a bad start as the visitors took the lead inside 20 minutes.
Coming courtesy of John Ufuah, the goalscorer took full advantage of the break of the ball to slam home a rebounded effort halfway through the first half.
