Gloucester City will be gunning for an immediate return to Step 2 – even if boss Mike Cook fears it could come too soon.
Cook arrived at a turbulent time on and off the pitch for the Tigers and was unable to prevent City plunging out of National North a year after making the play-offs.
He has overseen quite the turnaround on the pitch with Wednesday’s comeback from two goals down and subsequent 5-3 penalty shootout win at Walton & Hersham in the play-off semi-final, bagging a place in tomorrow’s final at runners-up AFC Totton.
