YORK CITY have vowed to dish out the ‘strongest possible sanctions’ should allegations a supporter aimed racial abuse at an opposition player be proven.
The Minstermen’s pre-season friendly with Salford City on Friday night was abandoned following alleged racist abuse from the stands towards an Ammies player.
North Yorkshire Police confirmed a 23-year-old was arrested in relation to the incident that occurred in the 84th minute with the game tied at 3-3.
