Football Supporters’ Association embrace government bill passing

The Football Supporters’ Association and campaign group Fair Game have both hailed the fact that an independent regulator is set to oversee the men’s game in England’s top five divisions.
MPs voted to back the Football Governance Bill and the introduction of the regulator.
By a figure of 415 to 98 at its third reading, it is now poised to become law.
The legislation will grant powers to a body that is independent from government and football authorities.

It is designed to “protect football clubs” by “ensuring their financial sustainability”.
