WEARY Morecambe fans have reacted with scepticism to claims that a new owner is set to take over – amid fears the club may not be allowed to kick off the new season.
Controversial owner Jason Whittingham announced on Friday that a consortium led by Jonny Cato was set to take charge imminently, but previous false dawns have left fans wary.
Last night it was announced that Tuesday’s home friendly against Barrow, already due to have been played behind closed doors, had been cancelled.
