FREE agent left-back Matt Penney has earned himself a deal at Aldershot Town following a successful trial.
The 27-year-old former Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich Town defender has been training with Tommy Widdrington’s FA Trophy winners after recent stints at Altrincham and Rochdale came to an end.
Starting his career with Wednesday, Penney had loan spells at Bradford, Mansfield and St Pauli before joining Ipswich permanently but struggled for game time and was sent out on loan to Motherwell and Charlton.
