AVELEY and Brentwood Town shared the points in the Isthmian Premier League opener at Parkside.
Ollie Peters gave Aveley the lead in the 60th minute with a penalty, but Charlee Hughes, a former Aveley player, equalised for Brentwood in the 88th minute.
Aveley, with a new squad, faced a more cohesive Brentwood team, making it a challenging start to the season.
The Millers dominated the early stages, with Peters’ narrowly missing in the 12th minute.
