A THRILLING opening day encounter saw Cheshunt outscore Welling United to claim the points.
Welling’s Jack Paxman had already hit the inside of the post before the visitors opened the scoring from a 16th-minute corner, Ruben Shakpoke stabbing home from close range.
The Ambers’ response was immediate. Intricate passing opened Welling up and Sam Granville dribbled along the line to cross for George Nunn to sidefoot home.
