BLYTH SPARTANS were left empty-handed after a spirited first-half showing gave way to a brutal defeat at Silsden.
The opening half was end to end, with both sides trading blows in search of the breakthrough.
Spartans carved out a string of chances but couldn’t find the finish, while the Cobbys also tried their luck without reward.
The second half told a different story. Silsden came out firing, turning the screw on Blyth with relentless pressure.
