RAYNERS Lane failed to shake off their midweek bruising against London Lions as Hitchin Town claimed maximum points with a comfortable win in a match that seemed to fizzle out after half-time.
Confident on the ball and solid at the back, Hitchin struck first when Lewis Franklin opened the scoring after 12 minutes. The hosts pushed for a reply but were well contained, with Bobby Bircham going closest to finding a breakthrough.
Home keeper Charles Patmore saved well with his feet before Josh Jackman calmly doubled the lead after 42 minutes....
