A first-half double saw Herne Bay move up to second in the table with victory at Erith Town.
Bay missed a chance to go ahead in the 15th minute when Frankie Smith brought down Kamani McFarlane, but Dockers goalkeeper Harrison Firth saved McFarlane’s spot-kick.
It proved a temporary reprieve as two minutes later Deece Kasinga-Madia held off Andrew Dyhte to slip the ball past Firth.
