SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher was pleased with his side’s performance as they saw off brave Step 3 side Folkestone Invicta.
A brace from Slavi Spasov and a Ben Goodliffe header – all in the first half – set the Shrimpers on their way before Joe Pigott pulled a goal back for Invicta 16 minutes from time.
But Josh Walker still had time to add a fourth, leaving manager Maher happy with how his Shrimpers disposed of tricky opponents.
