WOOLFORD’S ROLE

FORMER Scunthorpe United, Millwall and Sheffield United midfielder Martyn Woolford ahas been named manager of Northern Counties East Premier side Frickley Athletic.
Woolford, 40, has been part of the Frickley squad since the start of the season and took over as caretaker boss following the departure of Tom Claisse last month.
He was handed the job on a permanent basis after last Saturday’s 4-1 victory at Beverley lifted Frickley to 14th place.
