NORTH WEST COUNTIES LGE

■BURSCOUGH kicked off the new year in style with a goal-fest as they saw off Pilkington 6-2 in one of only two games to beat the weather in the Premier Division.
The visitors went in at the break with a narrow advantage courtesy of a Stephen Rigby effort but a goal from Tom Croughan and a brace from Christian Mukoko saw them storm into a commanding lead before Matthew Hamilton grabbed a late double of his own.
Pilkington’s efforts came from Tom Douglas and Jack Pearce.
