IF Mark Hughes needed a reminder that Carlisle United are not your average National League side, it was provided by a glance at the ticket sales for today’s Brunton Park showdown with Boreham Wood.
By the time the Welshman faced the press on Friday afternoon, the Cumbrians had already sold over 12,000 tickets for a play-off semi-final that pits Hughes’ former First Division Cumbrians against Luke Garrard’s unfashionable Hertfordshire upstarts.
That’s more than Bournemouth’s highest gate of the season, for a Premier League game against Liverpool.
