CLASSY BLYTH HIT ’EM FOR SIX

NORTHERN LEAGUE
BLYTH Town were the big winners on the opening day in the First Division – beating ten-man Birtley Town 6-0 in Northumberland.
The Hoops had captain Sam Hedley sent off in the first half and were punished by Bailey Adamson (two), Alfie Marriot, Andy Burn, Ben Franklin and Owen Mitchell.
Carlisle City won the Cumbrian derby against Kendal Town 3-1, first half goals from Rob McCartney and Henry Walker added to by Charlie McGladdery.
