The 2026/27 Non-League season officially got underway in a small corner of the North-East as two Northern League Division Two rivals fought out a nervy goalless draw.
Over 200 supporters made their way to Darlington Town’s Eastbourne Sports Complex as both the hosts and visitors FC Hartlepool showcased a number of summer signings and took their tentative first steps in a season that appears to offer so much for both clubs.
