MEL’S HEALTH HANDS JAMES AMBERS ROLE

ASSISTANT James Elliott has been promoted to the top job at Cheshunt after Mel Gwinnett was forced to step down for health reasons.
Gwinnett took over the Ambers hotseat in October 2024 and led them to a 13th-place finish in the Isthmian Premier last season.
But in an open letter to Cheshunt fans this week, the former Barnet coach and Hampton boss explained: “On May 17, I was admitted into hospital. I have been in and out since while they tried to get an accurate diagnosis. This proved very difficult.
