DORSET outfit Sturminster Newton United were visited by the FA Cup trophy ahead of yesterday’s historic extra preliminary round tie against Portland United.
Promoted to the Wessex Premier League at the end of last season, the clash at Portland’s Camp & Satherley Stadium marked the Cherries’ first participation in the FA Cup since 1878, then known as Sturminster Panthers FC.
