■A LATE breakaway goal from Grant Tait put the seal on a determined home display as Barton Town saw off Boldmere St Michaels.
A great tackle on visiting striker Toni Omotola when he was through on goal signalled what was to come: the hosts were stronger in the one-on-ones throughout, and that was the crucial difference.
The Mikes never looked totally at home on Barton’s surface and an early seventh-minute Joe Wood centre conversion was equalised by Kyle Byrne on the quarter mark, and the game thereafter was an equal affair.
