(ON THE MOVE: Jordan Archer, right, has signed for Bury)

By Matt Badcock
Jordan Archer has thanked Chester for helping him fulfil his Football League dream after the striker signed for League Two Bury.
The 22-year-old quit his job in a bank last October to move to the Blues from Step 3 outfit Stourbridge.
Although Chester were hit by financial problems that saw a number of players leave and ultimately relegated into the National League North, Archer impressed during his time there with four goals in 12 starts.
National League new boys Chesterfield were also interested in his services but League Two Bury won the race.
And Archer, who has signed a two-year deal with the Shakers, admits the last 11 months have been a whirlwind.
“I was buzzing to go to Chester first of all,” Archer told The NLP. “I quit my job and got to play full-time football.
“Obviously it was hard at times last season with some of the financial stuff that came out. But it’s a really good club with great fans and I’m always grateful to them for bringing me to the level. I hope they can get back to where they once were.”
Archer feels Bury boss Ryan Lowe can help his development as a striker and he’s determined to meet the challenge head on.
“As soon as I heard everything was sorted I just wanted to get in and train and meet everyone at the club,” he said. “To be in the Football League now, I just want to kick on, work hard and see where it takes me.”
