National League club Maidstone United have been boosted by the news that Jamar Loza and Ollie Muldoon haveput pen to paper on new one-year contracts.
Both players struggled with injuries last season and thus saw their amount of playing time severley curtailed, however it is believed that they have managed to prove their fitness to manager Jay Saunders during pre-season training.
Loza arrived at the Gallagher Stadium in the Summer of 2016 after leaving Norwich City. During his time with the Canaries, the striker was sent out on loan to a range of sides including the likes of Coventry City, Leyton Orient and Yeovil Town.
During his two seasons with the Stones, Loza has found the net on 10 occasions during his 66 appearances.
Meanwhile, Muldoon, who came through the youth ranks at Charlton Athletic, featured just seven times for the Stones after joining the club last summer.
The 23-year-old central midfielder had a brief spell with Gillingham after being released by Charlton in February 2017.
Speaking to Kent Online, Saunders said, “What’s really pleased me is they had opportunities to sign deals at other clubs at our level and they both wanted to stay here and be a part of it.
“That, straight away, was refreshing to be honest. They’ve come in and their attitude’s been first-class.
“They’ve proved their fitness and I think the last few games they’ve done really well.
“I said to them I wouldn’t drag them along unless I really thought it was worthwhile. To be fair, they came to me, both said they had options at this level but they were both very keen to be part of it.
“I’m pleased they did and you can see they’ve really looked after themselves over the summer.
“Jam was visibly limping last year but now he’s got that half a yard of pace back and Ollie looks fitter and stronger than he did last year.
“Realistically they’re like new signings because Jamar was never fit last year and Ollie only played three games.”
