Chesterfield appoint

Chesterfield have appointed John Sheridan as their new manager.
The Spireites have been without a boss since Martin Allen’s departure two weeks ago.
Academy manager John Pemberton was placed in temporary charge and was unbeaten during his stint as caretaker-manager, overseeing draws against Hartlepool United, Solihull Moors and Ebbsfleet United.
Sheridan returns for a second spell in charge having managed Chesterfield from 2009 to 2012 during which he won promotion from League Two and the Football League Trophy.
