IN what might prove to be both teams last competitive match for some time, Stockport edged out Maidenhead at York Road.
The result extends the Hatters’ unbeaten run to six games in the National League while the Magpies remain firmly entrenched in the relegation zone after a fifth straight defeat.
Stockport snatched the points from their hosts courtesy of Liam McAlinden’s spectacular winner that eclipsed Ody Alfa’s first-half stunner.
The victory lifts Stockport into seventh, while Maidenhead slip to 22nd.
