EASTLEIGH’S National League match against Hartlepool United was abandoned at half-time after torrential rain reduced the Silverlake Stadium surface to a quagmire.
Referee James Durkin had no option to call the match off at the break, the aquatic conditions having worsened as the goalless half approached the interval.
Eastleigh manager Ben Strevens and Dave Challinor, his Pools counterpart, were in agreement the referee had made the correct decision.
