CHESTERFIELD climbed into the play-offs for the first time this season with Tom Whelan’s first-half goal being enough to earn the Spireities all three points.
The midfielder had joined Chesterfield earlier in the season from Weymouth and he would punish his former club when his volley on the turn found the bottom-left corner of the netthrough a crowded box.
