Charlie Carter bundled home an 12th minute winner to settle an undistinguished affair and keep alive Eastleigh’s prospects of snatching the National League’s final promotion play-off place.
The Spitfires are locked on 47 points with seventh-placed Bromley, whose visit to Stoneham Lane next Saturday will be significant.
This win over Maidenhead United was Eastleigh’s 11th at the Silverlake Stadium and their fourth success in the last five games, three of which they have won by a single-goal margin.
