BLYTH SPARTANS ended their three-game winless streak in National League North in style with an emphatic victory over nine-man Bishop’s Stortford.
Nicky Deverdics’ bullet free-kick gave Blyth an early lead, before Jon Shaw tapped in his first Spartans goal on the half-hour mark.
Andre Godfrinne was sent off for an elbow into the top corner for an early contender for goal of the season.
