Adam Campbell’s second-half strike handed Hartlepool United a vital win and punished a missed penalty from the profligate home side.
Campbell’s tap-in in the 71st minute was a bitter pill for Adam Lakeland’s men, who had dominated much of the game.
Town squandered a glorious chance to lead when Will Harris’s spot-kick was saved by Pools goalkeeper George Evans.
