CRISIS club Gateshead slipped to a sixth straight defeat while National League new boys Worthing continue to blaze a trail, stretching their unbeaten run to seven games.
A narrow victory on Tyneside propelled the Rebels up to fifth, the Heed entrenched at the bottom on just four points from 12 games.
The Heed faithful at least had a goal to savour, their first in an opening half this season and only their seventh of the campaign in the league.
