Aldershot Town chairman Shahid Azeem says manager Tommy Widdrington’s proud legacy at the club will remain in place despite his shock resignation – but has warned against any perception that the Shots board are weak.

Widdrington, 54, had been at the Shots since April 2023 and oversaw one of the most famous days in the club’s history as they beat Spennymoor Town 3-0 in front of 18,000 of their own fans at Wembley to lift the Isuzu FA Trophy in May.
