CLUB legend Ben Clark hopes Gateshead’s newly expanded academy will produce more players capable of challenging for a first-team place.
Several Heed youngsters have progressed through the production line over the last few years.
Defender Jon Mellish was a regular in the Gateshead side before securing a move to League Two Carlisle United, while midfielder Tom White also impressed prior to his move to Blackburn Rovers.
