Gateshead put their worrying opening-day defeat behind them as they ran out comfortable winners over a much-fancied Eastleigh side who have now lost their first two games without scoring.
Heed boss Alun Armstrong’s reign got off to the worst possible start last Saturday when they crashed to a humbling 3-0 home defeat to Southend United.
But they got their season up and running in impressive style at the Silverlake, showing no sign of struggle following the 277-mile trip the night before.
