A late equaliser from Sutton United’s Brandon Njoku denied promotion favourites York City a winning start to the new National League season.
After York’s play-off heartbreak from last season, they have so far been heavily backed to lift the National League title come April.
But it wasn’t the homecoming they expected as a resilient Sutton side continued to prove something of a bogey team for Adam Hinshelwood’s men, claiming a late point at the LNER Community Stadium.
