Well, was that worth the wait, York City fans?
It’s been 341 days since their side, fresh from reaching 96 points, were dumped out of the National League play-offs by Oldham Athletic to become the latest 3UP campaign poster boys.
The Minstermen fans won’t envy Jimmy McNulty’s fantastic Dale taking a pathway, as they found out nearly 12 months ago, that is fraught with danger.
York’s semi-final collapse against Oldham, who went on to win the final at Wembley in a thriller against Southend United, has been a subtext throughout this campaign.
