Jim Gannon hails “massive day” in FA Cup as Stockport County beat Yeovil Town

Stockport County manager Jim Gannon admitted that he was delighted for the his squad after they pulled off arguably the shock of the round to dump League Two side out of the at the weekend.
Despite going a goal down early on, Gannon's side rallied superbly to come away from Somerset with a 3-1 victory, which has set up a second round tie with either or Bristol Rovers.
Speaking to the club's official website, the Stockport boss said, “For the club this is a great day because it shows we're perhaps on the up and working our way back.
“More importantly for these players who are trying to establish themselves as full-time professionals or work their way back into the game, for them it's a massive day.
“I said to them that this won't be the highlight of their careers, this is just a taste of what can come if you work really hard.
“I'm really delighted for the fans and the players for all the effort we put in today because for us it's a real highlight.”
Gannon's side are currently unbeaten in their last nine games in all competitions and are currently sitting in 10th place in the North, just four points adrift of the play-off positions.
