GAINSBOROUGH kept their place in the National League North despite being well beaten away at FC United.
Trinity held onto their place by one point and despite the nature of their defeat, the large number of travelling fans left Manchester in jubilant fashion.
Their side had started well, going a goal up early when Chris Salt was left unmarked in the box and powerfully headed home.
But the hosts put on a show from that point on, turning on the style for a bumper crowd of 4,064.
