Francis nets winner to lift Ferriby spirits

AKEEL Francis scored the only goal as North Ferriby picked up their first win of the season at Croft Park.
The Villagers headed to the North East without a goal or point from their opening four games while Blyth Spartans were searching for a thirdstraight victory.
The visitors started well as Peter Jameson produced a fantastic save to tip Steve Brogan’s strike around the post.
Michael Liddle then spurned a good chance for Blyth before Dan Maguire failed to convert after latching onto Jameson’s free-kick.
