ASHTON are very much in the thick of the title race after a last-gasp win.
Substitute Josh Granite was given space in the box to head home from a corner in injury time and win the game. Both teams struggled to create many chances in the first half, although Ashton went close through Dominic Smalley early on and then Sam Sheridan who shot just wide.
It was Nick Evangelinos who got the breakthrough though just before the break when his initial shot was blocked by goalkeeper Matt Gould but he scored the rebound.
