MARGATE were denied the chance to go top of the table by a resilient Met Police side. The game sprung into life on 26 minutes when Met Police opened the scoring. Tom Bird was allowed far too much space to cross and he picked out Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick who headed past Lenny Pidgley.
The home side began to control the game a lot more from this point onwards but could not capitalise.
Margate came out far stronger in the second half, however the Met should have wrapped up the game on 57 minutes.
