PILGRIMS’ WILLIS PUTS UP A WALL FOR POINT

A CRACKING contest fittingly ended allsquare after a riveting second half kept the 1,047 crowd on tenterhooks.
Boston bossed the opening half-hour but Chorley gradually improved and after the break got well on top, only a trio of outstanding saves by Pilgrims’ skipper George Willis denying them a win.
Despite the intense home pressure, Boston were by no means out of the picture and Andy Thanoj shook the bar with a thunderous late strike from 35 yards.
