ASHTON clinched their first home win since November, taking vital points from an uninspiring encounter, with Aaron Chalmers’ 75th-minute strike.
The visitors needed Zehn Mohammed’s diving header to cut out Matty Chadwick’s early cross and Jack Banister turned onto Chris Sharp’s pullback but his effort was blocked.
On 12 minutes, Ashton’s Liam Martin latched onto Aaron Chalmers’ free-kick but fired over.
