SPARTANS SIGN UP HESLOP

FORMER York City captain Simon Heslop has signed for Blyth Spartans.
Heslop was released by York last summer having made just short of 100 appearances for the club since joining in 2016 - he was part of the side relegated from the National League and won the FA Trophy in his debut season.
He suffered a knee injury at the end of the 2018/19 season and was subsequently let go. But the midfielder, 33, continued to train with City throughout last season to aid his recovery before joining Boston United in February.
