LUKE Parkin’s speculative free-kick midway through the second half earned Farsley Celtic an opening-day success at Edgar Street.

But Celtic keeper Tom Donaghy shared the glory by saving Joey Butlin’s penalty, keeping a grip on the three points which even Dave Syers’ late red card could not loosen.
Farsley started and finished the first period strongly while Hereford impressed in the middle.
The first chance fell to the visitors with a well struck free-kick from William Hayhurst saved by the diving Brandon Hall.
