FINISHING was the difference as St Albans City saw of Welling.
For 65 minutes, the visitors were the better team but the sharpness of the Saints, especially Glenn McConnell, saw them cement their place in the play-off positions
Kodi Lyons-Foster had the first chance for Welling, but fired over. However it was the hosts who went ahead in the seventh minute. Kyran Wiltshire sent McConnell away, and he finished confidently.
