Brakes’ reunion tinged by sadness

LEAMINGTON welcomed Graham Allner and his legendary Southern League title-winning team of 1982/83 along with a host of former Brakes stars as their final game of the season was marked with a Former Players’ Day.
The only disappointment was that it was marked by relegation back to the Southern League after six years, but as that had been confirmed the previous week the home support set about creating a party atmosphere, and they were rewarded with a late second-half winner for Paul Holleran’s side.
