JORDAN THEWLIS bagged the winner as Alfreton made it three league wins from four.
It always felt like a tight encounter would be settled by one goal and it came early in the second half during a bright spell for the visitors. To their credit, Tamworth stayed in it until the death, despite playing for much of the second half with ten men.
