SUPERSUB Andrew Nelson came off the bench and inspired a comeback that keeps Darlington’s survival hopes alive.
His winner meant the Quakers ended a run of 31 matches in which they had failed to win after conceding the first goal.
They started well but failed to trouble Buxton goalkeeper Joe Young.
Cedric Main hit the side-netting, a Jarrett Rivers header was off target after a Matty Cornish delivery and a cross by Kallum Griffiths narrowly evaded Rivers.
