BLYTH Spartans’ winless run stretched to nine games after a damaging defeat in a relegation six-pointer against an improving King’s Lynn, who are now seven unbeaten. Striker Jonny Margetts scored the 68th-minute winner as the Linnets came out on top in a closely fought encounter at Croft Park. Lynn were given a penalty midway through the second half, which Margetts netted. Blyth dominated thereafter, and the visitors needed some heroics from keeper Paul Jones.
