MOMODOU TOURAY converted a penalty in the 78th minute to hand Chorley all three points against Peterborough Sports.
The hosts were unfortunate to miss out on promotion last season, finishing fourth before suffering defeat against Brackley.
Afresh campaign means a new chance at promotion, however, and Chorley will hope to have started as they mean to go on.
